Happy Birthday Jigsaw Social Media

Who doesn’t love birthdays? Today is our official birthday. How cool is that? Mark it on your calendars because we love presents and will totally be expecting some next year when we turn one. Personally, we couldn’t decide what kind of birthday entrance we wanted to have. Do we enter kicking and screaming or enter totally passive, wide-eyed and checking things out? After much thought, we decided kicking and screaming is the way to go. Otherwise you’d be bored and we’d be stifled and our birthday party would suck.

Here’s what you should know about us. We were born today! I’ll wait for everyone to finish their applause. We love social media, and by love, I mean we have been scolded at work functions, dinner parties and kids’ birthday parties for not engaging enough in real life and engaging too much online. Some might say we’re a tad bit addicted, but they’re just jealous of our new iPhones.

Here’s the part where the boss man says I have to be a little serious. Everyone grab a pillow…I’ll wait. When we first conceived the idea for this company, we were excited. Really, really excited. If you’ve gotten this far on our site, you probably know what we do and how we do it. I promise you we are also going to be the best at it. You’re probably thinking, “Sure….everyone says that.” You’re right, they do. But we have a passion for this. We get excited by social media. We get excited about sharing new information. It’s a lot of work to start a company. And by a lot, I mean we haven’t slept in months. This has never once felt like work. It’s like the saying goes, “Do something you love and you’ll never work a day in your life.”

So how does social media marketing really work? Well, have you ever had a piece of information that was so awesome you couldn’t wait to call someone and share it with them? And then you share it and 3 hours later you’re getting phone calls from everyone and their mother congratulating you? Social media marketing works the same way. If you give people something so awesome to talk about, they can’t help but share it. It’s human nature.
